The Social Protection Support Program for Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition (SOPRAN) was introduced today by the 8171 Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), in association with Nutrition International, and with financial support from GIZ. Through a comprehensive nutrition intervention, this effort seeks to improve the health and well-being of 100,000 adolescent girls throughout Pakistan by offering nutrition support.

نوعمر لڑکیوں کی غذائیت کے لیے سوشل پروٹیکشن سپورٹ پروگرام آج بینظیر انکم سپورٹ پروگرام نے نیوٹریشن انٹرنیشنل کے تعاون سے اور GIZ کی مالی مدد سے متعارف کرایا تھا۔ غذائیت کی ایک جامع مداخلت کے ذریعے، یہ کوشش پورے پاکستان میں ایک لاکھ نوعمر لڑکیوں کی صحت اور تندرستی کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے غذائیت کی امداد کی پیشکش کرتی ہے۔ حال ہی میں بی آئی ایس پی کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل، نوید اکبر نے نوعمر لڑکیوں کے لیے جلد ہی سوشل پروٹیکشن سپورٹ پروگرام شروع کرنے کا اعلان کیا اور اب وہ دن آ گیا ہے جب انہوں نے ان لڑکیوں کو فائدہ پہنچانے کے لیے باضابطہ طور پر سوپران پروجیکٹ کا آغاز کیا ہے جو اہل ہیں اور انہیں صحت مند زندگی کے لیے غذائیت سے بھرپور خوراک کی ضرورت ہے

Recently the BISP Director General, Naveed Akbar announced to soon launch of the Social Protection Support Program for adolescent girls and now the day has come when they have officially launched the SOPRAN Project to benefit those girls who are eligible and require nutritional food for a healthy life.

Benazir SOPRAN Project Launched By BISP

The primary goal of the SOPRAN project is to give teenage girls the social safety they need to improve their nutrition and equip them with the skills necessary to become change agents in their communities. Teenage girls will have the opportunity to significantly impact family nutrition through improved eating habits, intergenerational dialogue, and raised awareness thanks to this new project.

Nutritional Support To 1 Lakh Adolescent Grils

According to a press statement issued on Friday, BISP has started the Social Protection Support Programme for Adolescent Girls’ Nutrition (SOPRAN). The news release also stated that the initiative’s goal is to support 100,000 adolescent females in Pakistan with nutrition.

Main Participent Of SOPRAN Project 

The main participants included representatives from GIZ, Nutrition International, CERP, the provincial Departments of Education and Health, the Food Authorities, and other national and international partners.

SORPAN Project Launched In 7 District Of Pakistan 

Here is the list of 7 districts in Pakistan in which the BISP will start its New “SORPAN” Project:

  • Faisalabad, 
  • Swat, 
  • Shaheed Benazirabad, 
  • Quetta, 
  • Kotli, 
  • Skardu, 
  • and Islamabad

In these areas, BISP intends to offer community-driven behavior modification programs, access to foods that have been fortified, and thorough nutrition education.
